I'm selling a excellent condition Zeiss 10-100mm t2.0 MKI 16mm Zoom lens on ebay

The starting listing price is $1,799 with a "BUY IT NOW" of $1,999. If you mention you saw this RED USER listing, I will give you a $100 discount off the "BUY IT NOW" price... so $1,899.

Ebay Item#: 200773322860

Below is the wording for the ebay listing:

Up for sale is a Zeiss 10-100mm t2.0 MKI 16mm Zoom lens made in West Germany. This is about the fastest zoom lens ever made (f1.8), so you are only one stop behind Zeiss Superspeeds. And the combination of a fast aperture and a telephoto end of 100mm, you can easily get shallow depth of field on a small digital sensor or 16mm film.*This lens also has a macro function that lets you focus down to the front element at 10mm. Also of note is the zoom has factory integrated focus and zoom gears.

This lens is Ideal for shooting film or digital with adequate coverage on the 2/3" target for cameras like the RED, Scarlet, Ikonoskop and the upcoming Digital Bolex. It currently has an Arri-B mount, but you can easily find a factory PL mount, or used after market PL adaptor or mount (try Visual Products or Duclos Lenses). It has six screws on the back to make the mount change.

The glass elements and cosmetic condition of this lens is near perfect condition. There are no scratches on the front or back elements, nor is there any signs of of fungus, etc. Mechanically, it is also in excellent condition. Everything feels solid and smooth. And the build quality of this lens is unsurpassed, which is to be expected from a Zeiss product made in Germany.

This is a great zoom to compliment the standard 16mm Zeiss SuperSpeeds set (9.5mm, 12mm, 16mm, 25mm) as that set obviously doesn't have anything on the long focal length end. And purchasing a 35mm glass is quite expensive by comparison and would only get you one focal length.*This may also be a great lens to compliment shooting with Zeiss Superspeed primes on the RED ONE or Scarlet when having to shoot 2K slow motion footage. Since the widest lens you may have in your package shooting 2K would be 18mm (which is closer to a "normal" focal length in 2K).*

Feel good knowing I have 100% feedback on ebay and have sold a lot of lens here and on REDUSER. This lens work perfect. You won't be disappointed.

It is quite possible that 16mm primes and zoom lenses will go up after the release of the Digital Bolex and BlackMagic Cinema Camera come out in a few months. Here is perhaps your chance to get a quality professional zoom while they are still reasonable and before another mad rush for cinema glass hits the market, as was the case with 35mm glass a few years back. This lens new originally cost over $10,000, and you will see and feel that in the build quality.*

Thanks for looking!*

p.s: for whatever reason, ebay shipping is not very accurate. I don't mark up for shipping and handling. I will only charge what it costs to ship and insure the item to your city. I will PAYPAL back the difference if you over pay on shipping & insurance. I've just added a $15 handling fee to offset the fact that ebay does not add insurance (insurance is required). I pack very well, so rest assured, though.

Michael, the lens is a 16mm zoom and will take either a "hard" PL mount or an adapter from Arri b-mount to PL. I'm located a little outside of Los Angeles, in Orange County, Ca. Thanks - T

Hi Mark, I don't know the actual image circle the lens projects at the wide end. I would imagine because of the fast aperture, that perhaps at the telephoto end it would cover larger than certainly expected. There is a great chance for that. As far as the wide end, I don't honestly know or remember paying attention to the coverage on a lens projector. I would think that would be the starting point that the engineers used to cover the 16mm circle. I think Visual Products has two of these on their site, perhaps they know the answer to this question. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks - Todd

Hi Dan. Yeah, I was looking at the specs of the Black Magic Cinema Camera, and I assume some 16mm lenses will cover (at least at the non-wide side). I also think that most 16mm lenses will work if you crop the sides of the image a bit. Which could be kind of a cool aspect ratio ... at least in my mind it would be a more unique aspect ratio than 1:78, which is getting a bit tired these days.

If I recall correctly this lens vingettes at close focus at the wide end on standard 16mm film. So it's a pretty small image circle.

Nick
