  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

FS: Ultra Primes @ an insane LOW price!!

Those are nice Ketch, I wish I had the money for them.

Yes they are Paul, most importantly they are the absolute cheapest Ultra's you can find as this are literally as Brand new, but my love for faster and unfortunately laos far more expensive glass like th eMaster Primes and Leica's leave me no choice but to sale them, so at this price I hope to make some one esle a happy user... ;)

You will make someone happy.

are they brand new or literally new?

The word Brand New can not be used legally on any individual or collective item of which Original Manufacturer's box has been open, for this, technically the item becomes Literally "AS" New once the box is open, even if you don't actually touch the item within, in this case, lenses have been mounted and tested for the set up final weight and length, but not worked or shot any material with it, this makes them appear and are Literally as New out of the box.

Lenses btw are only few months old, purchased Brand New from AbelCine (28mm) and Jeff Roberts (65mm) at $13,600 and $14,500 respectively.

I have two c300pl for sale, are you interested ??

Thanks Gabriel, but I already have the best camera in the world about to get even better... ;)

Just willing to trade for a 65mm Master Prime or a Leica S-Cine prime or of course good old Cash.

I have purchased from Ketch - if he says they're "as new" then they are.

Thanks Josh, I hope you are shooting some insane stuff with the Noctilux on Epic... ;)

That's a really good deal.
Not only that, wait time for Ultras is 1 year...
If I had the cash...that 65mm would be here:(

Thanks Albert, and I would have happily sent it to your good home... ;)

can I ask in what way the Ultraprimes are different from the Masterprimes ?

I always thought the Master primes came from a 35mm size film camera path whereas the ultraprimes were developed specifically for digital cameras ?

Well Dominik,

Starting form the obvious MP's are Superspeeds @ T1.3 while UP's are T1.9 which this to me is one of the primary points to want to go back to MP's, as I love to shoot WO at very wide apertures to isolate my subject of interest from out of focus BG, and in fact even with the MP's at such super wide apertures I still make use of Diopters to further increase such Isolation.

The physical construction of the MP's is far superior to that of the UP's both in design and handling, but you pay for this with Size, weight, and of course price, however some do much prefer the lighter and smaller construction design of the UP's., but I don't, I truly love the MP's and some what wished that even the new Leica Cine primes had followed such an inedibly well tough out design, especially because when shooting solo, I often don't make use of a Focus Pulling accessory, and for Hand focusing the MP's offer their Rubberized outer ring which is phenomenal.

Lastly the MP's are both Imperial and Metric with just a turn of the Focusing Ring, and this can serve very useful when in need of both as I do with all my travels.

The Digi Primes are the ones made specifically for 2/3 Digital cameras.

thats what I was thinking of.

thanks for clarifying.....you have some amazing toys to play with :)

He he, having amazing toys to play with is an absolute must in order to be able to chose the very best so to allow capture of the highest quality images possible... ;)

Ultra Primes have been around longer than Digital Cameras...they were designed back when 35mm cameras were the primary option.

guess that about sums it up, Ketch!

Just purchased a RPP 300mm from Ketch. Solid guy, easy transaction (wire xfer), super fast and well packaged shipping. Lens as described.

Dominik,

Here are a few differences between Ultraprimes and Master Primes.

Ultra Primes
- SIZE: Smaller than MP at about 2.2-2.6 lbs each. The wide lenses, 8mm through 14mm are a little heavier 4-6 lbs.
- LIGHT: T[1.9] One stop slower than Master Primes
- PRICE: Lower Price. New price is 13-14k, used around 10k per lens.
- RENTAL: $750-900 day

Across the set of UPs, they vary in different levels of flares, sharpness, slight optical characteristics.

Master Primes
- Size: Much larger than UPs, at 4.8-6.41 pounds across the set.
- LIGHT: At T[1.2] They are some of the fastest lenses in the world.
- PRICE: New they range from 21-27k each.
- very sharp, wides outperform UPs with Edge and Corner sharpness.
- These are the best of the best for a lot of people
- RENTAL: $1,300/day
