  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Fs - Set of LOMO Anamorphic roundfront F = 35,50,75,100 - NEW , PL mout , ARRI gear

It's crazy that Robert has to experience this with Sergei. So far my experience as of late has been good. He sent me a 100mm LOMO right away and it arrived a week later. The only issue is a loose lens cap which I emailed him to replace but it's not a huge deal.

Norm after everything that has happened, i don't think he is going to stiff you too.? I wish he would also send me the right focus gear for the 100mm and the lens support that he promised to send in an email he sent me 3 weeks ago.

I'm not trying to stir anything up.

I'm just saying that he has very mixed results.

I know it's been frustrating for Robert as I have been talking with him offline about this as well. I received all of my LOMOs and happy with them. 35, 50, 75, 100mm.

Just out curiosity Norm; I´ve been emailing Sergey about buying a 100mm Lomo RF a couple of weeks ago, then suddenly he went silent again, when did you buy your 100mm from him? Just wondering if he keeps on juggling with possible buyers as he has been doing lately. Robert strongly advised me not to do business with him, and the lenses he promised to be very nice and clean - where not! I´m happy for your positive experience with him, but for everyone else it seems to be the opposite. Be advised...

He promised me month and months ago about the 100mm but disappeared for a while when he disappeared on Robert. But when he came back online, he told me the 100mm that he had before had problems but he found two more in Moscow, sent me photos, and let me choose which one I wanted. I took a chance and paid right away, and he shipped right away after modding it. I got it a week later.

Maybe he could send me the lens gear he promised me for my 100mm quickly,? He managed to mod Norms 100mm very quickly...i still haven't received it....by the look of it i probably never will.

For clarification, did the lens set ever arrive? If so, how long did it take from point of sale?

Hi fellas. Yes after much chasing, embassy contact and other people on the ground doing research over there I finally got them. I had to spend a few more thousand pounds to get them into a useable condition, which included repainting the internals of the housings, collimation, stuck and oily irises, oil on internal optics, slack and backlash in focus, gears hanging off, so as you can see they were not as Sergey described them. I still do not have the focus gear for the 100mm or the lens supports, and don't hold out much hope of ever getting them. I have, since recieving the lenses, actually received emails from Sergey literally just containing the word " Loser " . Very strange. If you are considering doing business with Sergey Kravchenko , please think very hard. I have recently received emails from a buyer who is in exactly the same position I was in and found this thread to late. He still does not have his lenses.

I wish I'd found this before I paid money to buy a set of lenses from Sergey. He is taking my money and has disappeared. I can't get in touch with him. I found a couple of other people who were defrauded by Sergey. We are planning to fly to St Petersburg to find Sergey.

It would be helpful if somebody can tell us his address so we can get our money.

Can you please provide more details; for instance, when the offer was made, when/how the money was sent, how did the seller contact you and offer to sell you the lenses? What was the description?

There are several people who are very interested in these problems and details such as these can help with investigations.

Thanks

Money was sent as wire transfer in September 2013. I found the seller's ad on dvxuser using google. No email after that, and no lenses.

Yes, this sounds like a bad problem. I have recently been ripped off by a seller in Los Angeles who sold me a trashed 22mm anamorphic lens for a metric butt-load of money. The problems with this lens are so bad that it will take another butt-load of money to bring it up to spec. I'm going to take him to court and make him pay the bill. He's here on RedUser and he knows who he is. Anyone wishing details please PM me. I've received a tremendous amount of support so far, thanks everyone!

A few more details:
The seller claimed he knew nothing of the problems with the lens when I complained. Yet, he had the lens for more than a year and had arranged to sell it to another buyer at one point. The other buyer, smartly, inspected it in person before buying it and probably laughed in the seller's face. I did not do this homework, foolishly trusting the man on his word and supposed reputation as a prominent seller/renter in LA.

EDIT:
When we disassembled it yesterday 5 of the 6 screws holding the front escutcheon in place were totally loose, and there were fingerprints all over the inner elements. We're going to have them fingerprinted by the police (we have a friend at the local station where my father used to work as a custodian of evidence) and use it to disprove this guy in court and expose him as the unscrupulous individual he is. Buyer beware on RedUser, there is a reason sellers come here: no buyer protection like there is on eBay. Sure, a lot of the sellers here are probably stand-up people, but there are bad eggs ruining the bunch.

All the more reason to always use Paypal.
Never wire transfer money.
No lenses after a grace period = automatic refund.

Brandon,

Is the 22mm in OCT19 mount that can not be converted to PL? In that case, I know who that (22mm SF) seller is and I'm very much sure he bought that lens from Sergey K. I did my research and found that info with the help of another Reduser who was actually buying that lens but Sergey sold it to the seller who then sold it to you.

Sergey sold a couple of 22m's. I know of one he sold (I know the original seller) and it wasn't in the condition that Brandon shows on the photos. To be honest, serial numbers should be used (in PM if needed) as that's the only way to be sure of any history... until then, joining the dots isn't necessarily as easy as you'd think.
