There is a market for everything, depends on the price, supply and demand.
Price would be much lower if there had been some tens Red cameras on the market for sale, not to say hundreds, and potentially there are thousands.
The fact that Red sold over 8000 Red1 cameras doesn't play in their favor.
The burden of proof still heavily rest on Jim shoulders to show that the Epic will stand for what it is suppose to be.
On the other hand, the vibe for the Alexa is very high, and the shortage in cameras make it even higher.
So like I wrote, and said even two years ago, flooding the market is not necessarily stands at Red favor. It maybe worked for the start up.

Oh sure - because selling lots of cameras is bad for RED's business right? The second hand price of red ones makes no difference to them, beyond their generous trade in offer, which guarantees a price for the red one when epic ships. This keeps the second hand value of red ones high until they are obscelete. Far better than any other camera company.
