  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I don't have one K. Berlin, and don't plan on using one ... well, the Flash Drive possibly when it comes out, but till then CF only, so the Cradle is going.

I do have to say that it is a great piece of gear and build like a thank is the only word that properly describes it!

Mike, we are all hoping for larger capacity cards, even in the world of photography, with the excess of 20MB x file they fill up fast, and at 22MP you need a fast one too.

Shot with the RED drive today, the cradle is rock solid no doubt...note to self (and this has been discussed before) if you use a RED drive, have an extra to swap out since the download is basically real time.

It sure is, I almost want to get a Drive just so I can use it, but as #349 is intended for behind the scene camera and in front of the camera, camera(not a typo) when I start shooting my first Film, so the only thing I'll consider other then the fantastic CF will be the RED FLASH.

This has just arrived on Friday item#60218, so it is the latest workmanship courtesy of RED improvements.



*EDIT. Well, I just opened the box, since it has no seal anyway, and even so I didn't opened the plastic bag, I can see that it is beautifully done,
the Black finish is just perfect, and I couldn't find any imperfections, not even near the bolts and or at the corners, this is a great piece of gear, casted or machined!

Hi Ketch,

There is a lot of discussion on the forums about the differences... I was just curious which version you were selling. I have purchased two RED DRIVES and the tolerances have changed since the initial offering - they both work well with the original machined cradle but the cast version is too loose. I believe the current shipping drives don't have this problem, but I haven't looked into it too much.

I agree, the new finish on the cast parts is much better than the unpainted versions. That being said, the machined counterpart is still obviously the superior option. Thanks for checking for me!

Yes I use 21MP when talking about this one.
Actually it is 20.05 Mega Pixels Mega=1024x1024
