Hey all, I'm seriously considering selling my Red Zoom, it literally just got shipped back from Red. It's a year old and I decided I would have it cleaned and serviced, no real issue, just dust that had started to gather in the lens after a particularly dusty shoot out the back of a mini van on a mountain road. My advice.... don't agree to do that. It functions perfectly and looks perfect and it even has the new front cap which fits nice and snug! Hooray!
I really enjoy this lens, but I've just spent too much money on an Angenieux S16 7-81mm Lens for shooting personal projects in 2k with and I don't really need this zoom anymore. The nice thing about owning it is every so often a production needs something wide, or convenient in a pinch so an extra $150 a day isn't a bad thing.
