My beloved and rare Cooke 25-250mm is reluctantly up for sale. This is not your average Cooke 10x, Mk1, Mk2, or Mk3. This is very different, it's the one marked 'Super Cine Varotal' with a huge concave front element. Known for being first used in FX shots on the original 'Superman'.

I'll get some pics up in the next day or so, but for the time being I suggest you look at Timur Civan's review of this very lens:

http://timurcivan.blogspot.com/2011/...-cooke-25.html where you'll see a selection of test footage.

Lens came originally from Doug Underdahl. According to him, Robert Altman had it for a while & used it on 'Fool for Love'. He informs me it had a major service fairly shortly before I bought it, including new custom made rollers for the zoom mechanism.

Comes with case, front & rear caps, & zoom stick.

Selling because Master Zoom!

(and impending Dragon)

Asking $8000. If it goes for that price I'll throw in an original Preston Microforce, working, with cables, bracket etc.

I'll be listing a RPZ 18-85 tomorrow too...
