Very good price and nice setup for DAVINCI RESOLVE Andrae ;)
i love your mac pro.
good luck with the sale.

Is the CPU nehala or the next generation?
Is it possible to ad a red rocket to this system ?

The dual six core processors are Westmere. Yes it's possible to add a RED Rocket card to the system.

how much is apple care to renew..is it always a yearly thing..?

did you mean "good for R3D 4k footage" ?

so without the rocket card it does realtime at 1/2 res. ?

1. The price for the Mac Pro - AppleCare Protection Plan is $249.00:

That will add an addition two years of warranty coverage to the one year limited manufacturers warranty. My Mac Pro was purchased in January of 2011... so with AppleCare you will have protection until January of 2014.

2. I meant "1/2 Res. Good" setting.

3. Yes without the RED Rocket card you can get realtime playback at "1/2 Res. Good" on a 12 core Mac Pro. Premiere Pro & Davinci Resolve both will give you this playback speed.

Buy with confidence from Andrae. He really takes care of his gear.

Thanks Adam!!!

Primarily used the card for single link 3gb/sec color monitoring via HD-SDI to Flanders Scientific LM-2461W.

Andrae,

As you mentioned before, I'm wondering if 12 core is better than Red Rocket in case of Macintosh. My client shot 60 frame on 29.97 timebase, and edit it with 200% retime on FCP, then back in the Resolve having hard time playing back in realtime with RED ROCKET. Then without RED ROCKET, Quoter Res plays almot full frame, Eighth Res plays perfect full frame on MacPro 4,1 8 core. I didn't want to believe Red Rocket performs worse than faster CPU because of the past good experiences, but getting the Cubix and a couple of GTX285s didn't really help the performance much. You must be thinking of getting PC by now and I'm thinking the same, it's really sad about Apple.
