ive had about 30 emails regarding price i would let the set go for $50,000 i think this is a fair price as they are better than mk3 supers speeds and these will only go 1 way in price UP

Sorry $50K for a T1.4 set. No way. They would have to be at least the last generation of T1.3's, which they are not, and even then it's a stretch.

If you look at the Salt III tests here, it's also highly debatable that they are better than the SuperSpeeds.

I wish you luck (really), but you can throw my email away at that price.

These k35s are like fine wine they get better with age and to find a mint set with a mint zoom is hard to come buy if I don't get this price I will keep them thanks

I question the condition of the lenses used for that test as it does not reflect my experiences with k35s and it sounds like the ones used were pretty beat down.

Same feeling, as we have two sets and they both perform better than the Salt III test. The sets are regularly rented out by famous DPs for their projects.
That said - I do believe $50,000 is exaggerated.
Anyway - best of luck with the sale Arre.

+1

I also own a set of K35's and I can tell these lenses perform much better than those used for the Salt III test.

I've got no horse in this race--as we sold our K35 set--but they outperformed Zeiss Superspeeds. They were in perfect condition and behaved fabulously. We miss them :( I certainly respect the SALT III folks but I'm thinking they probably didn't have the best samples there for the K35 set. Which brings up the issue: the difficulty and expense of properly maintaining older glass. Cosmetically, the set being offered here looks very nice--including that zoom!

paul thank you and i mean that this set is in fantastic condition hence the price

Gentlemen,
I am somewhat known for saying :- How was the Focal Depth on the camera that the Tests were shot upon? Were the Lenses and Cameras tested together for Collimation before hand.
If these tests or any tests were shot on 35mm film then this would be a page one job before the shoot.
I find these days that very few Digital cameras have a correct Focal Depth. This will affect the subsequent test footage drastically.
Unless you know these facts I would say that would be a problem especially if the lenses had come from a reputable service depot as I believe these were.
Sorry if once again I have rained on your parade, but it has to be said and a known fact before tests can be labelled correct.
Kindest

Hi all,

Out of curiosity, what focal lengths/stop is the K35 zoom?
