FS: FILTERS - 138mm and 6x6 (ND, 85s, BLACK DOTS, Grads, Clear, more)

[George A.]

Hi!

I am selling several filters which might interest you. Some very rare and valuable. Most are 6x6 and 138mm, some are 4 1/2" and Series 9.
I'm going away at the end of next week so I've lowered the prices on all of them in an effort to sell before I go. Take a look below.

VERY RARE SET of HARRISON 6x6 BLACK DOTS (or TEXTURE SCREENS as they are sometimes called).

SOLD

Very famous and almost impossible to find. Unique diffusion effect.
Experienced DPs know what I'm talking about!
I believe Mr. David Mullen also mentioned them on this forum a couple of times.

For additional information, check the two wonderful books THE MYSTERY OF FILTERS (by Harrison) and IMAGE CONTROL (by Gerald Hirschfeld).
As a quick example, I know that Alex Thomson, BSC used them extensively on "Excalibur".

The quick Harrison description below:

--------------------------------
The Black Dot Texture Screens are handcrafted, and sold in a wood storage box. Patented by Harrison & Harrison, these glass filters soften images without the whitish veil, retaining contrast as the degree of diffusion increases. An exposure compensation of approximately on stop is required for each filter, regardless of the degree of diffusion.
--------------------------------

Great four-filter set!

- BLACK DOT 1
- BLACK DOT 2
- BLACK DOT 3
- BLACK DOT 4

They come in their own original wooden case, as expected.

Price: only $600 plus actual shipping to your location.

Please see the attached photos below.

HARRISON 6x6 GRADUATED FOG FILTERS

HARRISON 6x6 GRADUATED FOG FILTERS

VERY RARE SET OF HARRISON 6x6 GRADUATED FOG FILTERS

SOLD

The set consists of 3 filters: GRAD RF-1, GRAD RF-2 and GRAD RF-3.

"RF" stands for "Regular Fog".

The Grad Fog makes the scene look much more natural, as in real life, fog is not perceived as a regular "blanket" effect over the image, but on the contrary: the foreground is clear while the background is "foggy". These filters are able to create the effect found in nature.

I am asking only $275 (LOWER PRICE) plus shipping for this 3-filter set.

VERY HARD (if not impossible) TO FIND.

For more info, check the book THE MYSTERY OF FILTERS by Harrison. Also check the photos below:

[George A.]

Lots of interest but I only clinched the sale of the Tiffen 138mm Rotating Pola and the Tiffen 138mm Non-Rotating Pola so far (which I've removed).

The rest of the filters are still available but I will make a further reduction since I do want to sell after I leave New York for the Holidays.

So, latest prices in an effort to sell this week:

- VERY RARE SET of HARRISON 6x6 BLACK DOTS (or TEXTURE SCREENS as they are sometimes called).
New lower price: $500
See Post #1

- VERY RARE SET OF HARRISON 6x6 GRADUATED FOG FILTERS
New lower price: $300

1 (one) Tiffen 138mm Metal Shade ($40)
See Post #6

- TIFFEN 4 1/2" BLACK PROMIST FILTER SET
New lower price: $175
See Post #7

- TIFFEN SERIES 9 DECAMIRED B-6 FILTER
New lower price: $30
See Post #8

Basically I took off a full $100 of each 138mm or 6x6 set and I've also lowered the price for all the other items.
I don't expect further reductions as I think these prices are already edging perilously close to a complete bargain. More and I would better keep them.

Let me know if you are interested!

[George A.]

The BLACK DOTS seem to be spoken for. If the deal falls through I will let you know, but for now, they are off the market.

The rest of the filters (6x6, 138mm, Series 9, 4 1/2") are still for sale!

Thanks!
George

[George A.]

It's confirmed.
The Harrison 6x6 BLACK DOTS are now SOLD.
The Tiffen 138mm CLEAR is now SOLD.

The Tiffen 4 1/2" Black ProMist set, the Tiffen 138mm retaining rings, the Tiffen 138mm Metal Shade and the Tiffen Series 9 Decamired B-6 will go on e-bay tonight, since they will find a better market there and I also want to get rid of them before I go away.

I still have the HARRISON 6x6 GRADUATED FOG FILTERS, the TIFFEN 138mm ND (NEUTRAL DENSITY) FILTER SET and the TIFFEN 138mm 85 + ND FILTER SET. I am reducing the prices for the very last time, hoping these last sets will find a new home this week. As follows:
