I have a couple extra C/Y (Contax-Yashica) Mount Zeiss T* lenses for sale

Both are in excellent condition.

300mm F4 SN 6523398 Has the typical buttery smooth Zeiss long focus throw
Price: $595 plus shipping from Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33020

35mm F2.8 Price: $345 plus shipping from Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33020

Also have a Contax to EOS 1.4X teleconverter - this is a very cool converter in that it is more solid and easier to use than the usual C/Y to EOS adapters and also has a built in 1.4X teleconverter optic. So your 300mm F4 becomes a 420mm F5.6; your 35mm 2.8 becomes a 50mm F4; or your 50mm F1.4 becomes a 70mm f2. This converter also has the electronics built in to allow focus confirmation.

The optic in the converter is the reason the adapter is much more solid - most normal C/Y to EOS adapters have to be very thin and have a special spring lock to keep it from rotating but they still generally seem a little loose and can be a little hard to get on and off (often it is better to have one of these types of adapters for every lens to minimize the difficulty) - with the optic it allows the converter to be longer and have the same type of mount and lens release as the camera would have, with the same simple and solid locking and release mechanism.

Here is a quote from Nick Morrison on the Contax Zeiss Survival thread:

snip...
I think the Contax 2.8 glass may be the best deal in DSLR optics period. They are UNCOMPROMISING when it comes to sharpness, quality, and look. The 28 2.8, 35 2.8, 50 1.7, 85 2.8, 100 3.5, and 135 2.8 are optically INSANE. The 135 is GREAT, but the other ones are just plain SICK.

The 35 is out of control. I think it's almost perfect, actually.

Hello Michael,

how much for the converter?

Bear in mind this optical converter places additional GLASS between the lens and the sensor, so expect to see some optical degradation and light loss when you use it...which is why generally they are not recommended (standard adapter rings w/out additional glass are preffered).

That being said, the lenses Michael is selling look terrific!

Hey thanks Nick.. I just finished building my Contax set after reading your awesome thread. I figured it would be a good addition to my collection to have the Mutar Teleconverter for my 300mm.
By the way is the converter Michael's selling a Mutar?

It's not a Zeiss Mutar no, so hard to predict how well it will do with the 300 f4. The Mutars are specifically designed to work with Contax glass.

That being said, I've LEITAXED all mine, so trying to figure out now how to still use my Mutars...Hmmm...

Glad you enjoyed the thread. Still can't believe people read it (and that KEH keeps selling out!).

Someone should pick up Michael's glass! The 35 2.8 in particular is a BEAST.
