Decided to part ways with my Komodo. To be honest since getting it I've not once looked at my Helium - it's just that good! - but these days I find myself either renting an LF or dusting off the film cameras, so it only feels right that these cameras go to a home where they'll be used!
The kit was built with a few configurations in mind. For studio setups I'd run long rods out the back of the riser and attach my teradek, timecode box, and a V mount D-Box, leaving a battery on the camera for hot-swapping. The GDU ribs leave tons of pick points for aks, and I'd often put a rosette on the right side for an MDR or Cinetape. Side handle has a 15mm rod clamp for a stub rod to grab a focus or iris motor. Overall a wonderful and fully featured configuration that left nothing out.
THEN! For handheld or travel work things got really fun. Ditch the riser and use that GDU side handle (pictured) as a grip. Throw on the viper gears Hasselblad plate and run around with a tiny 500cm lookalike. It blends in perfectly and everyone thinks it's just a stills camera. Guerrilla shooting at it's finest.
This is everything minus a lens to immediately go shoot.
