This is the side loading larger version clip on MB and is sturdier than the new modular MMB-2 - the latter is more for DSLR shooters and while you can buy kits for larger lenses
its really designed for scarlet rigs shooting on canon or nikon still lenses. If you shoot mostly primes like the RPP pr Super Speeds then this is going to give you a lot more options
thats why its $600 more in base price than the MMB-2.

Horses for courses but the MMB-2 does not replace the MMB-1 its just smaller for smaller lenses.
