Hi!
I'm selling an Apple G5 Powermac tower computer. Quite old, yes (meaning, non-Intel) but I am adding many valuable Blackmagic accessories.
The G5 is Dual 2Ghz, I added 8GB of RAM memory (maximum!), a good video card (ATI RADEON X800 XT 256 Mb) and it has 500GBs of hard disk storage (two internal hard drives). I paid more than $5,000 for this machine at its time
Now, of course, it seems crazy
HOWEVER - I am adding a very nice Blackmagic Decklink HD Pro 4:4:4 editing card. I paid $1,995 for it.

Also, I am adding a Blackmagic HD Link Pro monitoring card, also capable of 4:4:4. I paid $695 for it:

Last but not least, I am throwing in the famous Sonnet G5 Jive - you can add up to three additional Hard Drives, all internal! So you can basically have 3TB or 6TB of additional storage with this ingenious solution:

Of course, I am also adding the Tempo™ SATA X4i 4-port Serial ATA host controller for PCI-X:

This machine doesn't compare by far with the new Macpro Intel towers etc. It cannot process RED files.
However, if you are happy with editing ProRes, then here is a very good machine which can do it perfectly. You'll be able to edit and monitor in HD 1080 4:4:4 without any problems. The G5 can simultaneously hook to two computer monitors (dual-monitor set-up for FCP, for example) through the video card, one 1080 HD monitor and one SD color correction monitor, all at the same time (that was my set-up) - the latter two through the Blackmagic Decklink card. So 4 monitors for a perfect ProRes system.
I am asking for only $1,500 for all of the above. Pick-up in New York City would be best.
If interested, drop me a line at:

Thanks!
