Red One MX offers:
4K 16:9 - more resolution than Scarlet's 4K HD with a larger frame of the sensor (so more DOF in the same field of view)
No issues/rock solid workhorse.
Better slower slomo options at 3K and 2K
Is absolutely silent when in record mode - perfect for interviews - can run for hours on 340 Gig drive, and without overheating
More efficient compression. Redcode's 36 looks cleaner than the data equivalent on Scarlet.
Our cam includes 4 hard drives, so you get 10 hours (!!!!!) of media with no recycling 4 hard drives - That's 1.2 terrabytes! That would cost over $10 000 in SSDs.
Canon Smart Mount (for which you can buy a Redmore Pro type wireless focus wheel that uses the motors inside the Canon lenses - works absolutely flawlessly up to 100 or so feet away with no stepping - even allows you to chose speed of focus wheel (one turn for full lens travel, two turns, three, whatever).
Also includes 5'6 LCD, Universal mount, cables, usual doo-dads - even screw-on 15mm rail system.
Add V-mount batteries and Canon lenses and you are ready to shoot for 10 hours straight without recycling your media
(Also includes PL mount - user switchable)
Our camera has been very well cared for, I am a known Reduser. Camera has been used to shoot some of the most beautiful women in the world (and so it has good energy).
Now with Epic, we just don't use it as much.
$14 K Less is not worth it - we love our camera.
In person pick-up preferred but will ship at buyers expense to wherever.
If you live in Montreal you can come and see the system in person.
