Sheesh. You'd think that for all the complaints about the Red Drive media being discontinued that lots of people would be all over this.

Yeah, considering the recent panic, I can't believe this didn't sell immediately. And Andrae is including the $250 cable with the drive. I think people forget that is an extra!

was it actually and extra when originally purchased? I here that on the LCD's as well, but i can't recall being billed extra from RED when i bought my drives etc.....in fact was looking at my receipts just now and the only extra for a cable was a $200 charge for EVF/LCD extension cable. OR is RED now billing extra for cables....becuase i don't see that they did back in 2007 & 2008.

I only bring this up since I had purchased a few extras on R.U. LCD's and drives where i keep being told it was an extra where in fact came with my red drive and if i wanted an extra cable i did in fact have to pay for it.....and i do have three of every cable.

ah...so that now makes sense. Got it...

yeah...sounds a deal since there are no hdd's available. I'd buy as well if i had a project. but bought mine 4 months ago before the shortage.

Yep. In the beginning, everyone needed a cable anyway, so it was included. I think RED also miscalculated how much the cables were going to cost. They started selling them separately because most camera owners didn't need a cable for every drive, nor did they want to pay for that.
