Anyone have any rumors of a new Movi?
With all the recent major price cuts is Freefly ready for a new Movi?? They are sold out of the m10 and m15 on their website.

I would imagine this is to transition to different price points for m15 (tier 2) and the movi XL (tier 3) becoming their gimbal offerings. Could be wrong.

Curious too about this... There haven't been major evolutions since the M10 came out like 3 years ago. The M15 is just a slight evolution from the M10.

These gimbals are amazing already, but I would love to see what Freefly can come up with next... As awesome as they are, there is still a lot of room for improvement, and I can't wait to see what the second generation of gimbals will bring :)

It would be really cool if they came out with a gimbal specifically made for a shoulder rig, something really compact.

m15 is such an industry workhorse that it seems like a great deal now no matter what comes out. Seriously considering picking one up.

Freefly shake things up and think outside the box. They also take their time to make things work really well. No one has really altered the gimbal since the M15 came out; it's been much imitated but never equaled. Meanwhile their software control is years ahead. It's a safe bet that they'll be the company to continue showing us how to use the latest technology for innovative camera movement and camera support.

I decided to skip buying the Tilta gimbal just because... well.. two reasons...

1. Waiting to see what Freefly does
2. If the new freefly gimbal is too expensive for me personally I could always get a used M15 and still be a happy camper.

Same here. I was really curious about the Tilta rig, but I've been using the Movi on dozens of very demanding shoots and it always worked perfectly without a single issue. So I decided I'd rather wait to see what they'll come up with next. I have a feeling something might be coming in a not too distant future. Just a feeling of course, I have no actual idea what they're working on.
And in the meantime, I'll keep using my upgraded M10 which is already a fantastic tool.

I have a M5 and a full size ronin, really thinking about upgrading the ronin to an m10, and really wishing I would have jumped on that m10 for $3000 sale they had a little while ago... The weight alone makes them worth the money, not even counting the app and software.
What are some of the things you guys see that could be fixed in a gen2? I would like to see extreme weather proofing and a little more robust.

I'd say :
- Better cabling integration (power, video, FF,...)
- Ability to take longer cameras and heavier ones (or bigger lenses)
- Easier/more precise ways to balance the rig
- a way to make more nervous whip pans when needed
- being able to use Bluetooth with iOS. Wifi is not very practical.
- better weather proofing
- maybe a small and easy interface somewhere on the rig to easily recall different preset modes without needing to open the iPhone app

Movi once ran the stabilization game. But I think they ignored the competitors for too long, kept their pricing a bit to high and lost A LOT of market share to DJI. I think if they had made a unit comparable in price to the ronin they could have leveraged their well known reputation and customer service and really crushed it.

they still are... Dont confuse prices with quality and support. Its all relative.

what matters is to have something that is reliable and earns you money day after day. If that doesnt happen or it happens only some times you end up spending way more money that what you actually saved buying cheap, loosing jobs, or even getting exposed to productions that wll never hire you again because you just couldnt make it work ...

cheap comes with a price , you should know by now, after all it has been more than 3 years and many GBs , and l a ot of painful stories wet with tears

my 2 cents.
