Hello group,

I wanted to let everyone know that we have announced the release of our Rave and Canvas products for free. No, we are not crazy and no we are not leaving the industry :) More will be revealed in November.

Both Rave and Canvas support r3d files natively. Drop them on and off you go....we support full rez both with a Red Rocket and without, just depends on what you are trying to do. Full VTR emulation (both slave and master rs422), realtime scaling, 3D LUTS, 3D tools and more.

Here is the link to our website where you can check them out.

Fantastic news, thank you! Setting up a Linux box is very easy these days so I will definitely take a closer look at your products.

lol, I will tell several of our high-end customers running Red workflows that one :)

Just to clarify r3d support in Rave & Canvas. I know our website isn't specific...that is because we handle all kinds of files, not just r3d.

We support r3d files several ways.
Drop them on and hit play (with no Red Rocket installed). The system will do a pixel pick based on the power of your system (what your system can achieve in realtime)
We also support FULL REZ as a step thru (so you can see the full quality of the frames) with no Red Rocket
We also support FULL REZ playout with the Red Rocket
We also support the ability to convert the r3d into a variety of other formats (pulling from any quality of the r3d)

We do real-time scaling so these can be any size and go out to any display

Now X that by two.....yup in stereo(3D)

Yes, several customers are using this in their post workflow daily :)

Bob,

We have been that quiet little company in the industry the past 10 years :) Much of what is/was on primetime touches or touched a Rave. Been used in the workflows of lots of features (more than I can name) recent would be RIO and HP.

Yup, Linux provides us all the stuff the others can not. Freedom and flexibility to make S%$* work :)

Good to know Ramona, thank you. And look forward to see what you have under wraps in November.
