  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Okay, first of all: I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post it. Let me know and I'll move it.

This is the original post I made in the Contax Survival Guide thread:

My Contax set is now complete and have been modded, but it's always difficult to tell the 80mm fronts apart (duh, they're the same...)
I have seen a few different ones but thought I'd make my own stickers and make them available as a print ready file to everybody who needs this.

For the design nerds: The logo is a vectorised and altered version of the Carl Zeiss Jena logo, the numbers are in DIN (in my opinion the best font for legible numbers) and DIN Rounded for the details as this is both the german standard for engraving and is the most common type of font for engraving)

I am trying to see if I can find enough interested people so I can print a large batch and make it cheaper for everyone to get these. Alternatively I'm going to make them available as a free download on my website.
An A3 sheet with a selection of the 15 most popular lenses will be roughly $15 when printed in a large batch as opposed to $40 if you make a single sheet. So far the lenses include:

- 21mm f/2.8
- 28mm f/2
- 28mm f/2.8
- 35mm f/1.4
- 35mm f/2.8
- 50mm f/1.4
- 50mm f/1.7
- 60mm f/2.8 Macro
- 85mm f/1.4
- 85mm f/2.8
- 100mm f/2
- 100mm f/2.8 Macro
- 135mm f/2
- 135mm f/2.8
- 180mm f/2.8

Birk, you can sign me up for that. Ideally, I'd like a few extra that are not listed there but we can take that later. I'm 'just up the road' from you! Thanks for all your efforts!

Yeah, the selection is difficult - there will always be a few that are left out when you can only pick 15. I'd be happy to do the ones you are missing, but won't be able to print them for you cheaply.

Good to hear Jake! Still not sure exactly how to go about doing this. I'll definitely post here, when they are ready. And well, they are actually ready now.
I would like to organise to have these printed in order to make it as cheap and easy for people as possible, but so far the majority is in the US making it difficult for me to do. If the people interested and receding in the US could get together and do a bulk order that would make the most sense.

But yeah, I'll make them available so people can sort it out themselves too.
 
I'm in! Of course, that means that I'll have to buy more lenses to be able to use the stickers. :-)
 
Im in too - and GREAT job!

To make your life easier, maybe just make the file downoadable - and leave it to folks to print on their own?

Or post the PSD file so folks can customize as they see fit?

A third idea would be to use Etsy (or similar) and charge folks a small fee for the file - if this starts to take up too much of your time.

I'm curious how the stickers are printed? are they cut outs, or have transparent/colored backgrounds? thanks
