  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I've just started a production company and i'm trying to get used gears.
All through out this week the seller are fradusters for the following ebay items won.

Sony F3
Red One camera
Carl Zeiss Lense

1) Ask if they have the original purchase receipt (check against the dealer with them)
2) Ask for serial no and check against Manufacturer's blacklist
3) Preferablely pay by paypal and pick up locally
4) Make sure you get a shipping tracking no that is actually trackable same day
"Only use maximum 2 days delivery option because it mostly take 3 days for paypal payment to settle in their account"
5) If you pay by paypal and you are not satisfy, call paypal for "instant item not recieve hold on the money"
6) Check their feedback rating and how many items they've sold. (Be careful because ebay as been hacked recetly with seller listing over 200 item and has selling status of over 4000 products and 100% rating)

I hope this would help someone out there.

I have 2 to rent in UK with full gear except for lense was jsut looking for cheap auction on ebay for body only.

Was that the one in Manchester we were discussing in the other thread?
I have noticed that e-bay had become more dodgy again recently as e-bay/paypal seem to have lightened up on policing things and it generally seems to be attracting sharks.

Also keep in mind that if you pay via Paypal, but pick it up in person -- you may not be covered under Paypal's guidelines. Paypal wants to see a tracking number from the seller, preferably with signature confirmation to prove the item was sent. This guideline may have changed but you get the idea...
 
As a seller never let people that pay with Paypal pick up because you are not covered against fraud in that case
As a buy use Paypal for payment and use 2 days delivery option. Tell the seller that you will only pay the day that the product is ready to ship, so that they can use Ups or Dhl 2 days guaranteed delivery option and make sure the tracking no is trackable within 8-10 hours.

1) Take a look at the pictures carefully
2) Same Person that bidded 2***u is now bidding on the same product
3) check the ebay seller id

This week
1)The same 18-50mm is now listed with another user

Yeah I agree everything I bought from Cine City was broken upon delivery or broke 1-2 months down the line-Then I would have to pay the shipping cost to get it back them in INDIA for a refund-Learned my lesson after 3 purchases.-Screws-Motors-Handles etc --all junk from them

Interesting thread you started! The lens you won 5 days ago is mine! I responded to both your messages within 24hrs. You won the lens off a 3 day auction and messaged me 3 days after winning it, asking if the lens is ready to ship. Yes, the lens is ready ship as soon as you PAY! People buy RED equipment on ebay all the time and don't pay or reply. Thus after 48hrs, we realist! Marcella is my partner and relisted the lens once she saw you didn't pay after3 days. If you don't have the money, don't click on buy! We are not a layaway business, you dont just click the buy button and pay whenever you Want. We have bought and sold hundreds of items right here on reduser and dealt with dozens of members. Both Our ebay accounts are at 100%. You pay, we ship and that's how it works! I understand buyers have to watch out but sellers have to watch out as well. And as a seller I can't help but to notice the Sony f35 you mentioned above. It's funny because that camera was relisted and we bought it! We paid immediately after winning and received the camera several days later. Do I have to ask why you didn't get this package? NO TICKET! NO TACO! So please either pay for your purchase and remove you accurisations and links or cancel the sale and remove you accurisations. Or I have no problem with posting some links of my own that show, not suggest you are a buyer who does not pay
 
I don't understand what's the problem with ebay ? Ebay and paypal are supposed to be safe because the company guarantees you are gonna receive your money back in case something is funny. No ?
That's why I always buy (almost) carefree, even from new ebay users without feedback, or users with 98% feedback.
2 days delivery option ? Sometimes packages takes 3 weeks to arrive and I still didn't had a problem.


A few years ago I bought something (from USA) and the package never arrived. 2 months later I notified ebay, the seller didn't respond to messages and ebay promptly refunded all my money. So that proved to me that ebay/paypal is safe.
 
Buy with confidence from Micheal. I purchased a few items from him earlier and the sale was smooth. Transactions were made via Paypal and I recieved all items :)
