I decided to use my talents (such as they are) for good (helping dogs) instead of evil (promoting sales for multinational corporations with questionable labor practices and environmental records)

my partner and i have been fostering dogs in los angeles for the past couple of months. this is our third project, Frannie.

i shot and edited a quick little video to help her to get adopted:

i shot on dragon, using a borrowed DJI ronin. not the slickest video, but it's cute.

i love that a camera like the epic fits into any sized production. i just directed my first broadcast commercial (for harley-davidson) where we shot with three dragons, but even doing a 45 second dog video, it's still the easiest camera to use. i came along after the adobe's of the world figured out how to handle R3D files natively, so to me it's baffling when people complain about RED workflow. dump the card, edit and do a quick grade in premiere and then export using the 'Vimeo 1080' preset. you'd need robots, magic or slaves to make things any easier.

anyways, please feel free to share this, particular with anyone in los angeles who might be looking for a sweet lil' pup.
