Frame Lag

Has anyone noticed frame lag on the monitor when using a slider? I don't see it in the footage but I see a brief lag sometimes. They told me to calibrate the sensor with the desired shutter speed when using sliders. Anyone else experience this? Seems like a pain to keep switching to different calibration configurations during a production. I had it running in auto but that seemed to cause the frame lag. I have configured a 1/48 for now but plan on configuring more if that's required. Thanks in advance I am new to Red so hopefully this question doesn't come off silly.

Are you on auto blackshade? The short pause on your monitor is the calibration updating. When you use a manual blackshade it doesn't happen.

I have turned off the auto calibration and have configured my own. I do not see the problem anymore however my question is if I plan on changing frame rates and shutter speeds during a shoot would I need to calibrate each of these and switch between them in order to avoid the frame lag?

Yes, when you are making big jumps it's recommended to recalibrate. What you also can do when manually blackshading is make a couple of manual blackshades. You can do up to 4 at a time. Use the shutters you will use the most. So when you switch you have to manually pick the right one in the calibration menu.

Thanks man big pain coming from an URSA 4.6K but will see if it's worth it or not.

Furthermore, the pause only occurs in Preview (that is, when you are not recording). As long as you are aware of why the pause is occurring, there should not be any concern.
