Hi guys. I have a problem with frame rate.
The video was recorded in 30fps but REDCineX, DaVinci or any other application sees the footage as a 25fps.
I found out that when the 30 fps was on the digits displaying fps went Yellow (which means varispeed according to Manual). It looks like the TC is 25 but record was 30.
My point is to get the source 30 fps footage and convert it into ProRes 1:1.
Any ideas or similar problems?

Marek,

What did you have the project fps set at?

Was it set at 23.97 or 25?

This can be different from the visible fps rate up in the upper left

Well, I haven't set up any project yet. I am just browsing clips in RedCineX or DaVinci.
Also I tried to ingest them into FCP through Log&Transfer but I got 25fps so I stopped.

I think Peter was referring to the the Project settings on the camera itself, when this footage was shot

Yep your Project frame rate is set to 25 fps. You can see that in the bottom left had corner under 4K. You have to go into your menu and change the project frame rate to whatever you want it to be. Also when the frame rate up top is yellow and the screen says varispeed that means the frame rate is set to something different from the project frame rate. So technically your shooting slight slow motion to play back at 25p.

Basically what you were doing was a slight slow motion effect. Your project frame rate (which is the overall base timeframe of your video) was set to 25fps and you set the shooting fps to 30 which puts it into varispeed mode (aka slow motion). If you want true 30fps you need to change your project settings to 30fps as well as your shooting fps.

Hope that helps.
