With all the new Four Thirds lenses wouldn't it be sweet to have an adapter for that format on a Scarlet 2/3rd setup?

I second that... there are some really beautiful Four Thirds lenses, especially the fast zooms:

14-35mm f/2.0
35-100mm f/2.0
And the 150mm f/2.0

I've got the 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5 which is virtually free from distortion, and has barely any shading (aka "vignetting") which is pretty impressive for a 3.8x zoom lens.

I think it would be an excellent option for the S35 too. 4/3 lenses will cover 3k on the S35 models 16mm/b4/s16 lenses won't. Would make for a nice compact lens option, especially with electronic controls, and those top line Zuikos are excellent lenses.

I would love an adapter for 4/3 lenses as well but they are all electronically controlled in terms of aperture so red would need to get permission to develop electronic connections and I doubt that that will happen since 4/3 is pretty rare.

4/3 format, unlike Canon and Nikon, is an open licensable standard shared by several manufacturers. A license for the format would include electronic lens control protocols. Current members of the 4/3 consortium include Panasonic, Olympus, Leica, Sigma, and others.

I doubt red would spend the money on 4/3 adapters. Besides, S35 are not much larger in terms of image circle so the benefits would not be that great (from a cost perspective), still, there are some great Olympus lenses.

4/3 lens mount with electronic controls would make a great 3k shooting option for S35. Nice compact fast optics compared to 35mm glass.

A 4/3rds mount would make me change my mind about getting the fixed lens 2/3rds Scarlet. Or both. 2010 is going to be a tsunami for digital imaging.
