So my friend hooked me up with a link to this new Tilta AB adapter: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tilta-New-P...200?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d06c023f0

It arrived a few days ago and it's great; I love the 15mm rod slots and the clamps work great, and it even comes with an array fo different chords that allow you to rig it to a DSLR too.

But there's a huge problem with mine... GMP batteries don't fit with it. I just purchased some 95's and a 165 from GMP and they just absolutely won't work. What's weird is that normal AB batteries work perfect on it while the GMP batteries work perfect on the WoodenCamera AB mount. We did some research and surgery on the adapter to determine that it's the actual gold female slots that are having problems (where the two gold rods actually go in). I'm really disappointed because I love the setup of this adapter but I don't think it's worth selling my GMP batteries and spending a bunch more on real AB batteries just to use it...

So my question is this: does anyone know if a similar AB Power solution to this one with the rails and everything? I love being able to use it as a counterweight, and I absolutely LOVE the price of only 359... are there other off brands like this that also have the rods, and is there a way where I could maybe buy the Wooden Camera version and attach it to a rod like this (and be able to move it and angle it just like I can the Tilta one)???

And if anyone has any ideas as to how I can fix it as is, that would obviously be best. Have you guys had similar problems like this with GMP Batteries and various mounts?

Yes. Return the tilta, get the camera of wood battery slide plate and a 19mm rail mount from them or Red. It's great.

(I would rather support Red by buying their accessories, but they don't have one that slides like this.)

That's a great idea, thanks, Ryan. What actual AB power adapter should I get though, the Wooden Camera one?

Any other opinions on the matter would be great. I'm surprised I can't find more solutions akin to this Tilta one because I really like it. Does anyone know if this is really the only cheap AB power system that comes with the rod connector piece attached to it already?

Surprised, you can't find others solutions here?

I have MG1 AB plate. Doesn't slide but you can place 15/19mm rod clamps on the bottom or side 1/4-20" - mount it multiple ways. Works great. Made in the USA.

I shot this small video of attaching MG1 Anton Bauer plate on my Scarlet. Its hard to see the bottom 1/4-20" holes so you can mount it upright or on its back. Very cool design.

Thanks for the video, Jude. I had not heard of that brand before.

To clarify, I was saying that I'm surprised I can't find options as cheap and inclusive as Tilta's (less than 400 and comes with rod clamps and interchangeable wiring). It really is a great deal for anyone who is using standard AB batteries instead of knockoffs.
