Formatting Redmag w/o touch screen

I haven't received the touch screen yet - have a SmallHD connected via HDMI. How to I format the SSD? Can you do it with the side handle or do I just use disk utility and format to Mac OS Journaled?

no my man, don't format it anywhere else, in camera only,
go to menu>secondary menu>Media>Format Media, use your side handle joystick,
page 70 user manual , read it man, at least once, i am serious

John, you might need to get the camera menue mapped to your HDMI Screen. Look into this thread:

And yes, do not even think about using your Redmags for anything else than what they are meant for. If you already tried to format it on your computer I suggest a "secure format" in camera. It is next to the standard format in the Media menue. HTH.

Got it. The issue was getting to the menu with a fresh redmag on the HDMI screen. Figured it out though
