If you had a spare Red body on the job, could you use it as a media formatter? Any reason not to, other than it's a sad waste of imaging power?
Cheers,
Harry

Harry - nice to finally meet you the other night!!

You can also PRE-Format a bunch of cards - one at a time - before you shoot - and just put a piece of tape on them with a number so you put them back in the camera in order. We do that often.

Ian,
It's someone else's shoot...
It's a slightly understaffed run-and-gun with my camera as the backup body. Jay, my AC, called and wondered about this to minimize reload time.
I think it's slightly amusing that ANY shoot cannot spare 30 seconds of down time... ;)
Mark,
Yes, nice to meet you as well. I think (of course) at the start of the day he'd have a bunch of media ready to go, but I think as the day wears on there's no way to get ahead.
Does the camera not write unique info on the directory? Or just in the metadata of each clip?
Cheers,
Harry
