  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Forged or Woven?

I believe it is stronger than normal Carbon fibre due to the process that it is created.
Forged Weapon users get their camera's first. (correction meant Forged not woven)

Think thats about it. Internals are the same from what I gather - but the Carbon is different to the Magnesium Weapon in overall processing power (+ 8K).

Anyone else wanna jump in ?

Forged is shipping now while Woven will start shipping next month per the latest update. Forged material is said to be 4x stronger than woven. You get your camera sooner if you order Forged vs. Woven.

I assume existing Forged orders, that previously paid for the 8k upgrade when it was available, will also be the first to get 8k when the upgrade program starts. When they re-open 8k orders, Forged will also be first in line. Again, I assume this is after all existing 8k orders have been fulfilled.

Woven includes one OLPF while Forged includes all three.
 
Forged Weapon is this generation's Carbon Epic Dragon. You get your camera earlier and overall become a more VIP type of customer, getting everything ahead of the line in the future.
 
I heard Mark explain it today to someone the process but im not sure which was which but there is the differenc in the process how its made and how strong they are
 
Forged is much stronger and was a surprise sexy hit when offered by Jarred, Brent et al. Many more orders than anticipated... That is cool yet does delay the CF Weapons slightly.....

Call me an Elsie-anna if you must, but I see this as a good thing. That is, even though the Forged costs more to make, I'm sure it also has a higher profit margin. This puts windfall money into RED for new R&D, perhaps.

Another plus is it puts cameras out in the real world to identify any flaws that can be corrected before making and shipping the Carbon Fibers. Our Beta Testers, if you will.

And 3rd, even though they are first among equals when it comes time to re-open the 8k sensor orders, they do not trump first order 8k sensors.
