For sale is a very nice LOMO Round Front 50mm T2.4, with an extra LOMO Round Front 75mm rear section. I wanted to get the post up ASAP in case someone is looking for a nice last-minute tax write off. The 50mm just had a complete service and overhaul which included: full disassembly, cleaning, new grease, focus threads sprayed and baked, optics aligned. The lens is functioning like new.
For the right buyer, this lens could be either a 50mm or 75mm, or could be made to be swappable. I will sell them as a pair or individually. There are a few things to note.
The 50mm is all original LOMO, optics and mechanics. The 75mm rear, has the original LOMO spherical lens, but the lens housing has been updated (looks like Van Diemen), and the coupling is slightly different than the original LOMO 50mm. I talked to Jacek over at Optitek, and with a modification the 75mm can be coupled to the 50mm. So whoever buys these could potentially have a 50mm, or 75mm, or set them up to be swappable.
DETAILS:
LOMO Round Front 50mm T2.4 - Serial number 790004
OPTICALLY
Excellent, all original optics. No haze or fungus. No chips or cracks. There are light cleaning marks on the front and rear elements. There is dust inside, typical of vintage lenses. VERY IMPORTANT - this lens has all its original lens coatings. Many of these LOMOs have been recoated over the years. This one has not, and it delivers the classic LOMO cyan/blue/purple lens flares. This lens loves to flare, and it flares beautifully.
MECHANICALLY
Excellent. As I said, lens has been overhauled. Focus and iris rings rotate smoothly and with little effort.
COSMETICALLY
The lens shows typical wear and tear for a 40 year old LOMO. Overall it looks very good though.
