Food and beverage commercials - LIGHTS QUESTION...

[Cristian Mihai]

Hello guys. For those of you doing food and beverage commercials i have a question. Are the Dedolights still the best or there are other options outhere these days. Best regards

[Chris Santucci]

"Best" is debatable but Dedo are definitely excellent. I shot some food last year and used a simple Arri 300 watt fresnel to rake and back light the business.

Dedos for very specific hits of light.
Godox S30 and they are very similar for a much lower cost.

A reflector system like the CRLS system by Light Bridge or Light Stream by DEDO can be very useful for tabletop.
Bouncing DEDOs into one of these systems makes for a very beautiful natural looking source.
