Sounds like the OConnor DM is winning right now. I remember feeling it at NAB -- I believe Eric Johnston pulled it out and let me play around with it. I like how it looked and felt -- although, weight is the biggest concern.

Coming from a guy who has always pulled focus on the focus ring -- and never used this accessory ever -- and knowing weight is the primary reason I haven't -- would the Oconnor be too drastic jump? I know someone from Abel could tell me the exact weight differences -- perhaps I will inquire and post back here for others who care.

Last -- do the friction gears work well enough to avoid having to put gears on cinema glass? Both the MFF2 and Oconnor DM have friction gears -- do they really work?

The whole point of cinema lenses is that they're usually built with gears. What lenses are you referring to? IMO the friction "gears" are only useful on very light focus rings, like those on still lenses.

I have the Durus and like it for larger lenses, but it's totally unusable on smaller lenses like the Leicas.
