can someone please inform me of which is the best follow focus for the 18-85
i have been told the arri ff4 is better than the ff5

please respond
as i am picking one up today in hopes it will work with my 18-85 when it arrives

thank you

Either the FF4 or the FF5 will work, but I prefer the FF4. Also the new Arri MFF-1 will work quite well.

Standard single or double-sided Chrosziel follow focuses will not fit.

The FF5 has more rod space between the MB when mounted with the arm to the right of the lens. It's a little cramped when mounted the "correct" way. Also, the brake lever on the arm doesn't have enough room to fully unlock, it sort of works.

He knows it's on the "wrong" side, but the connical shape of the lens gives the arm a bit more travel this way.

The locking lever can be adjusted with some shimming (pull a washer) so that the lock position changes and should solve this problem for you.

Yes I think so to that the FF4 is better than the FF5 and it is more for film lenses.
Where did you get it? ow much is it? and what does it include?

Abel sells the FF4 and we have special bundles appropriate for the RED. Feel free to contact us for a quote.
