I just received my BT Red One, and bought an OptiTek Nikon mount... I am having some major focusing problems. It renders my camera useless with Nikon lenses.

I have used a Nikkor 14-24 f/2.8, 24-70, and a 50mm f/1.8, and none of them allow precise focus control. The best I was able to use was the 24-70, and it would focus only around the higher end of the zoom... the wider it gets, the worse the focusing becomes. It is blurry no matter what I do.

Anybody have these problems before??

Have you adjusted the back focus?

Not sure how to? Do you mind guiding me to the promise land :)

replied to your email.
first you need to find which direction it's off.
Make sure your mount is seated correctly and engaged the locating pin per instructions.
lock the lens correctly so it's seated solid.

Be sure that your lenses are mounted correctly. Put the lens on and turn it until you can pull it forward slightly but will not come out. Only then do you use the lock lever. I have one for my red one and my epic and have no issues with either.

Got mine a week ago, after watching the YouTube vid, just in case, installed it and has been great. Strong at connection and good on focus. I would say start with the BF too, since it is obviously dif than the PL mount. Best of luck!

I seem to have found the problem. The wire connection was sticking out a bit too much, and caused the mount to not be seated correctly. All seems to be ok now!!

Excellent Michael. you are a good investigator :)
