I know there is other thread's that have covered this BUT (yes there is a But) i have thought of A idea that i would like to Share.

Ok let use this as a case study(see pic below) if you need to fly with this much gear you what would you Do?

attachment.php

I would take the two Backpacks and carry them On.(I think we all would)

Then there is the Atom 3D Rig Which this to be checked under the plane,So with it under they how do you know that it's not lost???

Well as a "Bag" i could be lost then you have to try and find it Which is a BIG PAIN, Airline lose bags EveryDay!

BUT (There's the but i was talking about) What IF the airline LOST A Firearm,They almost Never lost One because TSA(I know we all love the TSA) put's all the "bags" with firearm's in a More
secure room, (I wish my 3D Rig could go in there?) Well what if you have a firearm (A $20 starter Gun for race's is a firearm LINK ) in the Case with the 3D Rig then it would go to the Secure Room until it's time for your flight!

Then your gear is More S
ecure and you have peace of mind!

That's what i would Do!

Thank's Bob for the Link http://lifehacker.com/5448014/pack-a-gun-to-protect-valuables-from-airline-theft-or-loss

And a Thank's to Ketch for letting me use the Pic :)

I remember a huge discussion about this on Reduser sometime a year or 2 ago. And the final consensus was that it was a really bad idea due to its being scrutinized much more, and when found to just be a cover for keeping an eye on the film gear, I think heads were tossed.
