I have kept this Ronford head as a back-up to shoot camera (film) tests over the last 5 years (which is to say I don't use it much).

This head is quite smooth, although it does not have counterbalance (so no really long and heavy rigs like 24-290 Optimo with 6x6 matte box).

If you're just getting started and you're thinking about one of those cheap fluid heads (that will ruin your shot with stickiness), here's your chance for something better.

$50 starting bid... No reserve... $495 takes it right away, but that option is gone after the first bid is placed.

You guys want cheap? You got it. My loss is your gain.

This is an awesome head. I use it all the time as it's the only one in my kit right now. Very good for the money and heavy duty. I did have to get mine serviced however which cost over $200.

Thanks guys!

Any fluid head potentially may need to be rebuilt at some point. This one operates smoothly so I see no reason why it would need to be serviced (other than a slight fluid leak - but they all do that - seriously).

I have a Ronford mini quick-release that I could also offer (optional, additional cost) to the winning bidder (already 3 bids), or alternately an ARRI dovetail baseplate.

I placed this item on absolute auction because I could not come up with a reliable "fixed price" for it. So I'm going to have to trust the semi-free market here (semi-free only because of eBay's meddling).

I forgot to include a picture of the case, but it's really nice. English style hammered aluminum with custom cut hard foam inside. Very compact and lightweight.
