  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Flowcine Gravity One

Hi Peter and Constantine,

We just placed an order for a G1. It's a well engineered and clever piece of gear and I really like your spirit and vision on the future with the product and company. Of all stabilizers I tested at IBC, the G1 was completely different from al the others. Yet also most solid and well thought out. I hope you guys will get a lot more support and users. Really looking forward to putting ours to use soon.

Best regards,

Henk

Henk thank you for your support, you will be very happy with all the new updates.
We have made several contracts with distributors all around the world and we are very close of announcing all our new partners - distributors, some of them in the business for decades providing solid products for the film industry.
This way anyone who has a G1 will have the best possible support , dealing with legitimate companies that sell cinema tools.
We are also very close on announcing our new patented toys / upgrades for the Easyrig, taking the Easyrigers one more step towards innovation and exiting stabilized moves.
We never stop innovating , with fresh and exiting ideas never seen before.
So stay all tuned.

black color?

black color?

Dear Constantine, I'd suggest offering a black option for the gimbal. I like to have everything black or dark grey to avoid attracting glances and avoid reflections when doing docs.

Of course ;) This is the color options we offer our backers :)

Some of these questions may have already been answers, so I apologize if they are redundant:

1) I can see how it stabilizes roll axis and pitch axis, but can it do yaw motion as well? it looks like it only has 2 axis control, so its ok if it can't do yaw motion (PAN), but i just want to be clear.

2) when does it ship? Do you have an approximate date?

3) how much does the G1 weigh? What about the G1E?

Hey Jason! Regarding point 1. Its pretty much explained on the website and the campaign videos (I hope :)..) The Easyrig cord itself functions as a stabilizer around the Y-axis. We do say its a 2-axis gimbal system though because some will use it just for handheld use etc.

2. Shipping info is also on the indiegogo site ;) Ordering now means November delivery.

3. The weight on the G-1 is a little more due to the size increase we did to be able to fit even more cameras. For the G1-E we don't have the exact weight yet, because its not one single product. Since you can choose between 1-3 motors, and we have other mounting options as well. I would like to think of it more like a "system" than a product. As soon as everything on the G-1E is done we will specify individual weight on the components.

Very very nice. Hats off guys.

Btw, there is something special about that bluish-grey version on the web page.

Easyrig spring arm?

Easyrig spring arm?

Dear Peter,
I am clise to pulling the trigger on a black version. One question: You talk about an upcoming spring arm for Easyrig. I use a TurtleX strong. Will the spring arm work with that model? Any model?
best, Soren

Are you using the TurtleX strong with a lightweight Epic or Scarlet? How it performs?

When will the option be available to mount it to a Steadicam?

When in November do you see it actually shipping?

Also, can it be mounted to a monopod?

Hi Sören!

Black is nice :) Regarding the spring arm we will probably only support Easyrig 2.5 and Cinema 3. We will take a look at the Turtle X aka Easyrig mini, but its seems to be a little too weak in the construction, and might cause problems, so don't get you hopes up getting a spring arm, for the mini. We will know more after extended testing though.

/Regards Peter K

Hey Alvise!

No, we haven't got a Turtle X strong to test with. It seems like this is a discontinued product and replaced by the mini that doesn't handle the same weight as the Turtle X strong did.

Thank you Hrvoje! :)

Yes, the grey is special :) You kinda get used to it after a while, and make it look very stylish. It is little bit darker in the final production units though, because it went out a little too bright for my taste .

Hello Brandon, Iam answering your question, as I am the steadicam operator of the Flowcine team, and the chief engineer.

first of all our first goal, is to let the Easyrig operator, to be able to do stabilized shots, not just with a gimbal, but with many many upgrades, that will transform the Easyrig to a brand new device. That is because Easyrig is a very unique device and has some very interesting features that no steadicam have.

Now I will tell you that putting the G1-E on a steadicam, is carefully planed so we can have a useful, ergonomic, and steadicam operator friendly solution that makes total sense for the operator. Thats why the G-1 looks as it does to start with :)

We are also designing around making a totally new design, that will be able to go from high to low mode but in a very different way than the Alien revolution does.

All we can say right now, is that what we are designing original gear with fresh ideas, based much on my 15 years steadicam experience as an operator. We want to make something that will be steadicam operator friendly, and even more.

So yes we are working on a steadicam mount, and yes it will be adaptable with the G1-E. We already discussing this with well known partners.

But we will not announce a fast, non 100% thought through solution just to win the crazy gimbal race 2013 ;) The important point right now is to continue to design until this is something that makes sense to pro users.

Of course you will be able to mount it on a monopod , tripod, jib or anything else you desire, no problem.

Thank you for your interest!

Edit: I forgot to say about delivering dates. As for now all G1 production units will be delivered inside November at the latest 25th. apart of the indiegogo campaign we have more than 25 orders from our distributors all around the world, so they will all be delivered before the 25th of November following our original plan following orders by date that were bought , but last date as for now is the 25th of November.

After a very successful IBC, we've been approached by some well known distributors around the world. They were all given a long demonstration of the Gravity One at IBC, and got a briefing on where we are heading in the future. :yesnod:

Now contracts are signed, and after our Indiegogo campain you will find the complete range of Flowcine products at your local distributor, starting with the Gravity One.

Following distributors are our exclusive distributors for the following countries.

Emit - France/Morroco/Tunisia
Lemac - Australia
Vocas - Netherlands
Chrosziel - Germany/Austria
Productiongear - UK
Cameraworks - NZ
Engineer Service Ltd. - Ukraine

We are currently talking to a lot more distributors :patriot:. So we will update this list after the campaign with more countries! After the 25th though, no more indiegogo prices will be given. We thank our backers so far and will make sure you did a very good thing investing in a G-1 ;)

/Regards Peter K

Im happy to say that we reached our goal this morning :) As a appreciation to all our backers we provide you with a nice hard case with cutout foam for your Gravity One as a freebie!

Now while the factory is crunching out parts, we are working on phase 2 and 3! The prototype for the new springarm Flowcine Serene, that will take up and down vertical walking and running body error stabilisation to a whole new level for Easyrig 2.5/3, is coming along nicely :) The best part is that it will work on ANY gimbal, not only G-1/G-1E ;) Also the electronic for the G-1E is almost finalized :)

/Regards Peter K - Flowcine

Congrats guys. :)

Congratulations on reaching the goal. You guys keep surprising. First with the hardcase (nice) and now the update with the Smart Grip development. That does look smart indeed.
