Anyone ever spend time in a flotation tank? Also known as a Sensory Deprivation tank..

I'm trying one out this afternoon in Venice, CA......

so curious..

:usd:

Tried it a few times - kinda weird. It took a while to relax enough to get the full impression. You become so aware of your thoughts and when it is over and you stand up you don't really realize how relaxed your body was... still don't know if I liked it.

Oh - I also started to regress and developed neanderthal like qualities and ran around the city causing problems and... no wait... that was William Hurt ... oh yeah ... my bad - the neanderthal qualities and hair are mine... went in with em... didn't cause problems in the city though.

Well that was a pretty crazy relaxing experience..

First thing you do is shower up, then you dry your face, enter the tank and lay down, after getting comfortable, you close the top lid which makes it pitch black. It takes your body about 10-20 minutes to get used to the experience but after that time, you forget that you are floating in water. It honestly feels like you're just levitating. All of your muscles loosen up and your mind begins to drift in and out of consciousness.

After what felt like 45 minutes, I became a little antsy. I didn't want to get out of the tank because it felt so soon so I stayed a little longer. I then opened the lid and was amazed to realize that I was in there for over 2 hours. I sat outside the tank for the next 10 minutes, trying to figure out what happened to all of that time...

Anyway, I would do it again & I recommend it to anyone who isn't afraid of getting a little lost, hallucinating, or being claustrophobic.

peace
