So we've been trying to get our Weapon MG to flip the sensor scan direction when we shoot with the camera upside down. Everything appears to flip correctly in the RED Touch 7" monitor on set, but when we go to review the footage in REDCine X, only the ProRes files are flipped the way we intended - the R3D files are all still upside down. Anyone experiencing the same issue? Is it a firmware issue, or are we doing something incorrectly? We're on Firmware 6.2.51

An easy fix by going into the Framing tab and selecting Flip. You can apply this setting to all the R3Ds at once. Easy Peasy.

So that's an easy fix in REDCine, is there any options to fix it in-camera before it gets to post?

Thanks guys. The Beta version of the software seems to have fixed the issue. We were really looking forward to using the flip/mirror sensor feature when using MoVI and our jib, so getting that bug fixed so quickly helps us out immensely.

Heads up

I used the flip function whereby the R3D files are flipped for the first time and now the production company has called me to say that Premiere Pro will not recognise the files nor play them. After Effects luckily will see the files and properly display them. RCX 39 will see the files but not flip them although the Beta 40 displays correctly. Its definitely not been smooth sailing for my Weapon with Adobe although I should add FCPX will not import them either. Serves me right for not testing ahead of time but I have never needed to flip files before and wouldn't recommend any shooter do so unless they know the workflow ahead can deal with the files..
