Hi guys,

Had a quick question around inducing flares.

Have a planned outdoor shoot in full midday sun. I'm keen to get light into the lens to add some flares and contrast (using all Canon Still glass) - with the overhead sun this will be difficult so was thinking of ways we could bounce sunlight into the lens.

Any advice on this?
Handheld mirrors up high bouncing reflections onto the front element?
Be great to hear any tips and tricks.

I think I've also seen someone post about a specific light that can be used in this way. We won't be able to have it on this next shoot but would be interested to learn more.
cheers

Home depot sells packs of 1x1 mirrors. You can glue a baby pin on the back and mount them on c-stand for static shots (only need tuning every 5-10 minutes) or have someone hollywood them for lens flares. Red Giant also sells a plug-in that gives a decent anamorphic look.
