Hi all! Just bought an FSI CM170, and there is a fairly large light leak in the upper left corner. I talked to someone @ FSI that said that this was a fairly common thing because of the backlighting. It is a pretty large leak, IMO, and is apparent not only when the screen is black, but when the image is up as well. I must say that it is pretty distracting, and detracts from image assessment.
This is not a dig against Flanders, they have been extremely helpful, and offered to exchange, or return it, but at $3,200 I am beginning to question my purchase. They recommended to go with the LM-2461W, which is over my budget, but if the CM-170W light leak issue is standard, I may just have to go that route.
Can anyone with CM-170W chime in here, or monitors in general? This is my first professional grade monitor purchase, but have used other reference monitors that had no light leak and I am not sure if this is something that I should expect...?
