My Republican Fed Ex Man stopped by with my new 17" Flanders today. Hooked it up to the R1... damn nice lookin. Hooked it up to the Rocket... DAMN nice looking. Definitely better than my Eizo.

One thing was weird though... when playing out through the Flanders (HD-SDI) I would lose sound sync. When playing on the Eizo (through the system) sound was fine. The clip is on an internal SSD Raid 0 so plenty of throughput speed.

What gives?

The flanders is hooked up via SDI. The audio is going system sound? If so these are two different paths with different latencies.

Were looking into the 24" model from Flanders. Which Eizo model are you referring too? Are you hooked up using BOB or straight from back of cpu? I wonder if you can run two displays off the BOB?

Mine is the CG243W. And it IS a really nice monitor but the Eizo is running from my Graphics card. This is actually a drag, as that is DVI and the Eizo only supports 10bit over DisplayPort (plus it's going through the OS). I chatted with Eizo at the Red open house and then to Maxx Digital and we all kind of figured that maybe I could get an AJA HD-SDI to DisplayPort converter to get the best image out of the Rocket. I like this monitor a lot for Photoshop though, so I may just get another monitor to live on the Rocket... maybe the Flanders or as Cioni recommended, the eCinema.

ColorHQ is a good source for Eizos. Pretty nice that the 232 has SDI, but I don't see it listed at ColorHQ. I would love to do as their site shows and switch from SDI to DVI when going between NLE's and Photoshop. I really do prefer the image on my Flanders to my Eizo, tho.

Flanders 24" LM-2461W
....GREAT MONITOR.....
and a lot of goodies for the price...i think it was $4999 if i recall. I have one and recently switched out my Dreamcolor for the Flanders. ONLY downside or upside depending on how you look at it....Flanders is 3G---latest technology and a LOT of other cards and hardware are dual SDI---like the Rocket card. SO.....you'll have to either buy an AJA dual SDI to Single SDI 3g converter at a grand...or run out of the Rocket card from one SDI and input as 422 8bit YUV.....

Personally i wont drop a grand for the AJA converter....instead waiting to upgrade my entire Mac to the new thunderbolt system, (all my PCI slots are full) then with T-bolt---add Blackmagic card....and updated Graphics card....Then.....might see what's available for converting dual SDI to 3G
