I am interested in approaches to record full 180 degree hemispheres with a single camera.
There are an awful lot of small form factor digital cameras coming out with this capability, and many of them are approaching the resolution that could be desirable for VR but just shy of it. But they are generally also smaller sensors and I wonder about the quality of the optics as they are built into the camera.
Meanwhile the Helium sensor provides 4K on the vertical, meaning perhaps you could mount a fish eye lens designed of a smaller imager and capture a full hemisphere at 4K but with the RED Heliumbsensor quality and the benefits of R3D RAW.
Has anyone ever had a specialist need to mount say a 4/3rd lens on an Epic?
