I won't ever go back. This is my first image ever with my Scarlet, it still inspires me. I had my camera for 10 hours, knew next to nothing about the camera settings, set up in the dark, put on a $700 dollar lens and hit record.
Could have been better? Sure. But the power of REDCode has been a joy from that day forward...

Okay I love this thread!

I cant wait for my Scarlet to land so I can share my first frame/moment ;)

here are a couple stills from my first Music Video/ Short Film with Scarlet :) I was able to edit the R3D's right inside Premiere and grade inside SpeedGrade. It is such a pleasure to work with footage with so much depth! John I don't think I could go back. I would feel claustrophobic working with dslr footage again.

Wow! Jeff the grade at :34 and :38 just shows what Raw is all about. No way you could ever do that with any baked in codec.

REDCode UW just blows me away. I remember swimming up upon that scene with all the fish getting their teeth cleaned way back in that crevice and thinking there's no way I'm going to get this shot without lights.
I hit record just in case, and even after I saw the uncorrected footage, I thought no way. The amazing part of grading it was realizing that all you need is a reliable source of white to set your WB in REDCine-X, and the rest is details.
The final footage looks better than I experienced in person. Baked in codecs? No way man, that scene would have been BROILED without RAW!

REDUsers Paul Herrin and Johnny Friday convinced me to ditch the CC filter normally used underwater and pick up 2 stops of light instead, best advice I could have gotten.

On the subject of your post, really dig your lighting and also wondering what glass did you use on your MV?
Best, Jeff

It's going to be alright.. That bitter feel will go away eventually.
