yeah its unbelievable we had a script for like 3 years now... some trouble with investors going to jail... there are some shorts super low budget... but no feature

Well, I think crisis in Russian cinema runs much deeper, than just that. As long as Nikita Mikhalkov continues to usurp all the power and everyone keeps waiting for the state to provide money for production of movies, praising the Great Patriotic War, nothing will change.
That's why it is nice to see the beginnings of independent movie making, even if it's just zombie movie...
New, less expensive technologies can have some unexpected consequences...

Nothing wrong with some other kinds of zombies, doesn't have to fall in line with the usual American zombie movie style. Love the silhouettes all the way up to the reveal. But then it was just this guy with blood on his face and a nasty expression. So while you don't have to go all-out zombie, this dude definitely needed something more interesting going on - after all the build-up I expected him to attack the camera the second you showed his face. LOVE the pickaxe! And the snow looks great. Want to see more!
