Yes, very nice work. But, the audio must be messed up - I can't understand a word she says. :clown2:

Rainer,

Dieses Video ist toll.

Wenn Sie hatte die Chance wieder würden Sie wählen, ob Sie Rate Kamera auf 200ASA.

Ich interessiere mich für eine RAW TIFF Datei, wenn Sie verpflichten können.

smells a bit babelfishy...

yes you are right, their english is not the best in the video, but we are working on it. :)
@digitalfx: we graded with a class A 2k monitor...
@ibloom: four years gymnasium did a good job... :) at the low light shots we rated at 200 ASA and the EXT at 320 ASA. I will send you a ftp account.

thx for the comments...

Hi Rainer

Congrats on the shooting.

But I am a bit disapointed by the compression for the web, a lot of cliped highlights on the skins, that makes it look like shot on a bad HD cam, could you consider reencoding your stuff.

Thanks

Emmanuel

I second Emmanuels request... I've been using the rough cut of this video as the first footage I share with people when talking about the RED.

It would be wonderful to have one that has a higher bit-rate encoding, equal to the rough cut.

Regards,

"Nice video....shame about the song".....
I am about to embark on a Red shot video myself, so I had better not be too harsh.
I am realising there is a "look" to Red footage that is immediately apparent. It is not a bad thing that it has a distinctive feel to it but it does have a character of it's own just as filmstocks do. The beauty is, it can be manipulated and fruited up in post but deep down it's Red.

Hey Guys !

Thanks at all...

Yes the highlights can be a little reduced in the front shots. We looked at the grading to a class A monitor and color said that it is under 95%. But looks a little bit too high for the lcds.
To have a specific red look is not bad. And as you said, you can adjust it like your needs. To soften the sharp picture for example is no problem if it is needed....
We used a Panther Dolly, Cine Jib Crane, Steadicam... was great to have so much very nice toys on the set, and in the front the red cam.

Totally agree the Red look (that it has a "look") is not bad. I like it. I commented on the images for "Red Dirt Rising", how the period look was really enhanced by the smooth silky Red imagery. It's not just a neutral, impartial recording medium but an emotional, textural one that paints with light.

I think that is in part because everyone leaves it clean in post... because well this is the first time we've been able to shoot it so clean. Especially for a web stream its phenomenal. But I bet we could make a pepsi challenge between film and processed Red that would be hard to beat.

For SD TV broadcast you can already do that with a good HD camera and good lighting skills. The real test will come with an HD finish or better yet the big screen. At least red has the best chance of claiming that prize right now.
