• Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

First real estate video shot on the EPIC. Taking an RPG to a knife fight.

It was a lot of really nice shots. I especially enjoy the close up on the man 01:38, it feels connecting. I was not to fond of the music start and stopping so much. 01:55 super wide shot. What lens did you use?

Brett, how did you persuade the client to pay for an Epic instead of a regular HD cam or a DSLR? Did you encountered any difficulties doing that?

A lot of times the client just says: "I don't need so much quality and won't pay an additional $1500—2000 for this camera"

Hi. Thanks for noticing. Means a lot.
I don't give my Clients a choice on quality. They just get the very best when they book our Platinum or Corporate levels.
The music: I like it abrupt. You noticed. ;-)
Lenses; 10-16mm Canon and an 8-16mm SIGMA. Both stand up. I like shooting on the Canon 100mm Macro.

the stills were done with an Epic or the video or both? The video encode seems terrible, but the stills look great

This looks great. Such an amazing reminder of how awesome mega wides look. And another affirmation of - again - how these still lenses when used on a raw EPIC/SCARLET camera can just dominate. Reminds me of Mark Toia's post that showed his 50 1.2 was sharper than a Master prime 50!

The grade looks awesome too. Was is graded? Did you guys use grads or sunset grads on the time-lapses and skylines?

Fantastic work all around.

And yes...an RPG to a knife fight!

The stills are off a 5DMII. The video transcode down here is very limited by dreadful Australian Internet speeds. We transcode our own stuff.

Sorry, but I don't think it's the first. We shot this real estate video in November on our Epic. Your video is nice, though. It'd be nice to talk about the business with you.

Hi Carl. I note your November shoot was a 'demo'. So does it count. ;-) We shoot 50-100 real estate videos every week, just in our pocket of SE Queensland. We've been working in this vertical for 8 years.
