I haven't upgraded my Scarlet X in years. I'm thinking about upgrading it to the latest firmware. Is there an upgrade path I need to follow or I can simply go straight to the latest firmware?

Thanks

Pretty sure you can just go to the latest firmware. One cool thing is this. While others are having firmware issues with the newer cameras (me included) my Scarlet-MX is dead nuts bomber. Gonna drive it till the wheels fall off....

Hmmm. My side handle has never not worked. Never know what drives these things. Plenty of things don’t work righ in my Weapon haha.

The upgrade path is specific for DSMC Side Handles, not DSMC2.

You need to read my earlier post? I have both. My Weapon has issues. Not specifically side handle (though it has been problematic before) but my Scarlet-MX on the latest firmware for that camera, with a side handle....works perfectly.

Scott - I believe the "fix" noted in the support link takes care of a problem that may occur when you skip build versions (like the OP)
It is specific to DSMC1.
After you "downgrade" to six, you can move back up to the latest.

Willing to bet you did not lag behind in build versions so you would have never experienced the issue on your Scarlet and SH.

I suspect you are right...

Can confirm it's important to do the upgrade path, as not doing so seems to cause issues with side handle.
