Hello,

I am planning to shoot some fire particles. (something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3HUDPwwwjs).
But was wondering how I could actually create the fire particles itself easy. (I guess I could burn a lot of wood, and then poke around in it enough and it will give me some, but there might be an easier way).
Also any lens tips on how to nail this?

Thanks

We used BBQ firestarters wrapped in chicken fence wire on the end of a short pole. Burn them until they are growing red and then whack them and a flurry of glowing sparks should come forth. I last did this 15 years ago in Australia so your country may use a different brands and formulas? Give it a test.

Fire lighters with a collection of small dry leaves / twigs - hit with a small fan to create the angle that you need for the particles.

Other options are emitters in After Effects or there are a ton of special effects footage that does this exact thing.
