So in the true, cheeky, slightly arrogant persona of what "FINNER" has become on these boards a 3rd party Accessory website has been created. www.finnerknowsbest.com is there to help assist current and future owners figure out what products they need and why the heck they need them!

I am a big fan of reduser but sometimes getting quick easy information on products can be a very daunting task. My hope is that www.finnerknowsbest.com will help owners find third party accessory information easier. As www.finnerknowsbest.com develops we will be adding video's for items we test and recommend, showing the advantages and best ways we have found to integrate various tools into our production and post workflows.

NAB is simply huge and overwhelming. I scoured it with a fine tooth comb and still know there are products that I missed. www.finnerknowsbest.com showcases products/companies that offer options which will compliment red production/post and that I was completely blown away by. As many of you may know I have a strong background working the best cine gear there is to offer and I will only recommend products that I feel meet a high enough quality/function level that they will give buyers years of great use. That said, surprisingly most of the products offered by red third party vendors are priced very well, with some being incredibly cheap. The choices for red owners are growing quickly and my excitement level for many of the great offerings is extremely high. The revolution RED started with the Red One has found its way to the camera accessory market and I for one could not be happier. I will list products with the copyright “Finner Lust O Meter”, just because! ** Please note official product "Finner Lust O Meter" is still in development so watch for it to be on the website soon** (HA)

After visiting www.finnerknowsbest.com please surf on back here to reduser and if you have any questions on any of the products please ask them on this thread and I will do my best to answer them here. Also if there are some products you would like to see tested please let us know and we will see what we can do to make it happen.

On a side note we need some advice on how to set up a contact us web address that will not be berated by the evil spam bot's. So if you have some experience with that or a link to an email template system that would be helpful for us. Just please PM me that information.

I hope you all are able to find this website a useful tool. Now stop reading this and just go there already!!!!!

Thanks Finner - I respect your opinion, it's nice that you put everything out there in black and white

Glad you guys like it. I hope it is helpful to many and the site will become consistantly more valuable as we continue to test and use new equipment.

Ahh before you get too excited about this you do know he's Canadian don't you?

Sounds like someone is looking for a hockey stick across the teeth?(ha)

I believe it was a Canadian PM (Trudeau) who said the only thing that Canada exports is hockey players and cold fronts. But he followed that up with the only thing they imported was acid rain. lol
But really this thing is a damn good idea.

Love ya Finner..

I always liked the youtube spot and was wondering when something else would come...Its a great concept...Strike while the iron is hot...If you get a hands on show and tell deal with these manufacturers I think thats the real strength that will seperate what you are offering from what is already out there...IOW its YOU who will be the magnet...Would watch again and again to actually see you walk through each product ( Spedos are optional ) and then a follow up user interaction in text that can be easily altered and updated.

For it not to die on the vine it will need juice. That nectar is demos for free.

WOW, Even Sanjin likes it. I must have done something right. ha

Nice run-down of the products you detail on your site. Good job!

Did anyone get a demo of the Red Box at NAB? I crashed through the show too fast and didn't make time to really take a good look at it. Seems like an OK, idea, but price concerns me a bit... Pricewise, I can build a small render farm that should outperform the RedBox for less money, but nowhere near as effective in a power per watt scenario. The Red Box is also really slick in it's 1U rackmount size.

Anyway, I'm wondering which applications currently benefit from Red Box, they're being very vague on this matter. Partner section of their web site is blank...

I mostly agree with the other assessments. The new CalDigit SAN is really cool -- especially the EC34 adapter and compact units in addition to the HDPro units. Mobile SAN is entirely possible here and is a very intriguing solution for multiple on-set DIT stations.

ActionCam... Man, what to say here. Brian and Daryl Goff have an excellent product! We have one here and it is sure sexy! If you're in the market for a steadycam rig, this is THE ONE.
