Finding Kessler Kwik Release is nice for quick motion control setup, especially when you have some weight. The utility plates to lock major pieces together are totally solid (comes with a ton of screws which is nice).

I took over the kitchen ... so have minimal hang time for setups of motion control in there(i.e. wife is asking ... "when is this scene over" ... since i'm the actor with the robots ... this totally messes me up too ... ). I'm finding the kwik release can easily hold 100 pounds. Isn't too sensitive, is nice since it is not a "sliding" lock, but you just press down ... so is perfect for motion control setups that have over 30 pounds on them (i'd think it would be good for up to 200).

Here's a shot of the kwik release bottom plate on a pan tilt head. Note the red bar just recedes when you press on it, so you don't "slide" the top piece on, it goes down vertically.
The vertical click down vs normal sliders is real nice for complex setups, where you have crap all over the place and sometimes don't have clearance except for going vertically down.
(i don't think the kwik release completely "replaces" camera release systems, is a super stable way of putting motion control setups together where you need some serious weight)

This one is of the kwik release plate between the tripod and the jib, note the utility plate is on top and the kwik release thing is below it.
